Our Mission statement
The Spring Street Farm seeks to cultivate a space that stands apart from the brokenness that inhabits most of Aliquippa. We seek to inspire the local community to plant their own gardens, to spread life and color throughout the neighborhood, and to show beauty can exist in unlikely places.
The Farm serves as a prophetic work on the largely neglected streets of Aliquippa, pointing to the restoration, life, and healing that Christ is bringing to earth now, and that He will one day complete.
The farm currently consists of four main parts:
1) A section of raised beds set aside for community members to grow and tend their own vegetables and flowers.
2) A section cared for by farm staff and community volunteers which provides fresh produce to those in need and serves as a teaching space to learn more about gardening and the interworking of God’s green earth.
3) A prayer labyrinth tended to by farm staff and utilized by anyone in the community.
4) An apiary which currently houses two beehives cared for by farm staff and community apprentices, which serves as a teaching space and learning laboratory for community members and provides honey for local residents.
